The Carbon Mountain rifle is a stainless steel action with an in-house designed and manufactured carbon fiber wrapped barrel. This rifle is perfect for magnum calibers whose shots are very powerful and generate a lot of heat.
This barrel is stiffer, lighter and most importantly, due to our manufacturing process, dissipates heat faster between shots than our stainless steel barrels.
The carbon fiber barrel is made up of a stainless steel barrel that has been profiled to be as thin as possible before wrapping it in several layers of carbon fiber. During manufacturing, the carbon fiber is first mixed with our resin formula before it is applied to the barrel on 3 different axes. Applying high temperature along the entire length of the barrel during this process allows the each individual strand of carbon fiber to adhere perfectly to the barrel. This method allows us to bond these separate components to obtain a uniform, single cylindrical body. The result allows us to obtain a lighter, stiffer and accurate barrel; which has the property of dissipating heat more quickly.
The Muzzle brake threads into the end of the barrel and it is equipped with 42 angled holes which allow gases to escape around the barrel, which reduces the recoil by approximately 50%. During research and development, we added a 15 degree forward angle on all holes. This directs sound away from the shooter. It is made from titanium when purchased in a package with carbon fiber barrelled rifles.
Each ANTLER Mountain rifle is CERTIFIED to group 3 bullets within ½ MOA over a distance of 100 yards with ballistics tested during quality control. Each rifle is delivered with the target which was used to test it. TO TRY IT IS TO ADOPT IT!
