A cut-down, modified lever action rifle, this iconic firearm could be holstered like a pistol but fired with the speed of a lever gun. Nicknamed the Mare’s Leg, this innovative weapon brought swift justice to outlaws every week and rose to fame as the real star of the short-lived show.
Now, fans of those classic westerns and collectors of innovative firearms can holster this lever action pistol manufactured in the spirit and style of the original made-for-TV classic.
Built in the USA to Henry’s world-renowned standards of quality, the Mare’s Leg is a modified variation of the Henry Big Boy Brass Side Gate and available in .44 Magnum.
Like all Henry Rifles, each Mare’s leg sports a select, handcrafted American Walnut stock cut to the exact specification of the gun used on the television series. The large loop lever and the legendary crisp Henry action make it easy to enjoy those rapid-fire repeating shots – just like Steve McQueen.
Like the full-sized rifles these pistols are based on, the Mare’s Leg features a side loading gate on its gleaming brass receiver, allowing you to keep the five-round tube magazine fully loaded on the fly. We’ve also retained our removable magazine tube, making for safe and easy unloading after a day at the range.
